Pay Range: $65-$75/hour
About the Role
We are hiring a senior Azure-focused technical leader to own the buildout of our Microsoft ecosystem from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who has designed Azure environments hands-on, led at least one cloud migration, and enjoys working closely with stakeholders to drive adoption and alignment.
This is not a support-only or advisory role. You will design, build, and explain the architecture, while working alongside an existing IT team that is eager to learn and modernize.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design and stand up a brand-new Azure environment from scratch, including identity, networking, security, and governance
- Lead the transition from a Google-based environment to a Microsoft-first ecosystem
- Serve as the technical owner for Azure architecture decisions and best practices
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals
- Lay the foundation for data pipelines and reporting, with Power BI as the long-term reporting platform
- Support the roll-out and adoption of Jira for project and work tracking
- Influence and guide the existing IT team through technical decisions and change
What We Are Looking For
This role requires both technical depth and strong communication skills. The right person can build, explain, and lead.
Must-Have Experience:
- Hands-on experience designing and building Azure environments from the ground up
- Strong Azure architecture knowledge, including Entra ID, networking, security, and governance
- Real cloud migration experience, ideally GCP to Azure
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure and M365
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse, or Fabric
- Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
- CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Microsoft Azure certifications, especially Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Work Style and Team Fit
- Comfortable being hands-on while also guiding others
- Able to gain buy-in and build trust with existing teams
- Approaches change thoughtfully and collaboratively
- Enjoys operating in environments that are growing and evolving
Why This Role
- Opportunity to architect and influence a Microsoft ecosystem from day one
- High visibility role with real ownership and impact
- Collaborative team that values communication and practical solutions
- Balanced environment that values simplicity over over-engineering
